Social Media Plug-Ins
Use of social plug-ins from Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram & You Tube.

We use social buttons from social networks on some of our web pages and in our e-mail signatures. In addition, contents from social networks are embedded directly in our web pages. In the balancing of interests, this helps to protect our legitimate prevailing interest in marketing our offering optimally in accordance with Art. 6 Par. 1 P. 1 lit. f GDRP. Further details are as follows:

Facebook

Programs (plug-ins) from the social network Facebook are included on our website. They are operated exclusively by Facebook Inc., 1601 California Ave, Paolo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). The plug-ins can be identified in the context of our website by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button.

When you visit a web page on our website containing such a plug-in, your browser connects directly to the Facebook servers and in turn the content of the plug-in is transmitted to your browser which integrates it in the website that is displayed.

The information that you have visited our website is hereby forwarded to Facebook. During your visit to our website, if you are logged in to Facebook with your personal user account, Facebook can assign the website visit to your account. By interacting with plug-ins, such as by clicking on the “Like” button or leaving a comment, this associated information is transmitted directly to Facebook where it is stored. If you would like to prevent your data from being transmitted in this way, you have to log out of your Facebook account before visiting our website.

The purpose and scope of the data that is collected by Facebook and the additional processing and use of your data there, as well as your rights and settings options for protecting your privacy in this regard can be found in Facebook’s data protection notice (http://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.php).

Facebook Pixel

Our website uses the user action pixel from Facebook, Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”).

It enables the website visitor’s behaviour to be tracked after they clicked on a Facebook advertisement and were forwarded to the supplier’s website. This means that the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements can be assessed for statistical and market research purposes and also be optimised for future promotional activities.

The data that is collected is anonymous for us as the operator of this website; we cannot make any conclusions about the identity of users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, which means that the data may be linked with the respective user profile, and Facebook can use this data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with Facebook’s data policy. This means that Facebook can enable advertisements on Facebook pages and also outside of Facebook. We cannot influence this use of data as a website operator.

Facebook’s data policy contains additional information about protecting your privacy: www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can also disable the “Custom Audiences” remarketing function in the settings for advertisements in www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/. You must be signed in to Facebook to do this.

If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable use-based advertising from Facebook on the website for the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance: www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.

YouTube

We use the YouTube.com platform to submit our own videos and to make them publicly accessible. YouTube is an offering from an unaffiliated third party, YouTube LLC.

Some of the web pages on our website contain links to the offering from YouTube. Generally speaking, we are not responsible for the contents of web pages that are linked to. If you follow a link to YouTube, we would like to point out that YouTube stores data belonging to its users (such as personal information, IP addresses) according to its data use policy and uses it for commercial purposes.

Some of the web pages on our website also link directly to videos that are saved on YouTube. As a result, contents of the YouTube website are depicted in subsections of a browser window. However, the YouTube videos are not displayed unless they are clicked on separately. This technology is also known as “framing”. If you display a (sub-)page of our website in which the YouTube videos are embedded in this way, a connection is made to the YouTube servers and the content is transmitted to your browser and thus displayed on the web page.

YouTube contents are integrated only in “privacy-enhanced mode”. This is provided by YouTube itself and ensures that YouTube does not initially store any cookies on your device. However, when contents are called up on the relevant web pages, IP addresses as well as the additional data specified in point 4 are transmitted, thereby communicating in particular which of our web pages you have visited. However, this information cannot be allocated to you if you did not log in beforehand or were not permanently logged in to YouTube or another Google service (such as Google+) before you called up the web pages.

If you start the playback of an integrated video by clicking on it, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode saves on your device only those cookies that do not contain any personally identifiable data unless you are currently logged in to a Google service. You can prevent these cookies by using corresponding browser settings and extensions.

The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated in the web page. Integrating the content gives Pinterest the information that your browser has called up the relevant web page on our website, even if you do not have a Pinterest profile or are not currently logged in to Pinterest. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to one of Pinterest’s servers in the USA where it is stored.

If you are logged in to Pinterest, Pinterest can directly allocate the visit to our website to your Pinterest profile. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by pressing the “Pin it” button, the associated information is also transmitted directly to one of Pinterest’s servers where it is stored. The information is also published on Pinterest and displayed to your contacts there.

For the purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Pinterest, as well as your rights and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Pinterest’s privacy policies. If you do not want Pinterest to allocate the data that was collected via our website to your Pinterest profile, you have to log out of Pinterest before visiting our website. You can also prevent the Pinterest plug-ins from being loaded by using add-ons for your browser, such as the “NoScript” script blocker (http://noscript.net/).
